Lauren
Hamer - baritone Saxophone
Lauren Hamer was born and raised in South Wales. She came from a musical family and began the saxophone at the age of 9, progressing quickly through school, county and national youth ensembles.
In June 2006, Lauren graduated from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a 2:1 and received the Gemma Sharp Memorial Award for outstanding contribution and service to the college. She was also awarded runner up prize for the Hebble Woodwind Prize in 2006. During her time at the RWCMD, Lauren studied with world-renowned saxophonist, Gerard McChrystal.
Whilst living in Cardiff, Lauren was in high demand as a freelance sax, clarinet and flute player and has performed with artists such as Peter Karrie, Katherine Jenkins, Aled Jones and Catrin Finch.
Since September, Lauren has been studying for her Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal College of Music in London with Kyle Horch and Martin Robertson.
