Hannah Riches - alto Saxophone

Hannah graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music and Drama in 2006, where she studied with Rob Buckland and Andy Scott. During her time at the RNCM, she was a member of the highly regarded RNCM Wind Orchestra, with whom she recorded numerous CDs. Her involvement in the RNCM Saxophone Orchestra included tours to saxophone congresses in Cardiff and Berlin. Having a keen interest in jazz, she was a member of the RNCM Big Band has worked with artists such as John Dankworth, Andy Sheppard and Bob Mintzer.

As a soloist, Hannah has participated in public masterclasses with John Harle, Claude Delangle, Nobuya Sugawa and most recently with Vincent David, as part of the London Saxophone Festival.
In 2006 she reached the finals of the RNCM concerto auditions, and also received second prize in the RNCM Granada Prize for her performance of Graham Fitkin's Hard Fairy

Hannah is currently studying for a Masters at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she received a scholarship and also an Ian Fleming Award administered by the Musician's Benevolent Fund.
